Hypernova Black Gallery Records produces the music; Hypernova Black Gallery Productions builds the worlds around it. Thirty-two tracks. A showroom. A piece of Sydney that opens by appointment.
The mainstream music industry has not made space for the people we work with — neurodivergent artists, survivors, single parents, late bloomers, autodidacts, the anxious, the incandescent. We do not pitch them to a category. We let them make the thing they actually want to make, and we build the apparatus around it.
The label operates as a closed atelier. We release when the work is finished. We promote when the work is finished. We do not chase virality; we build catalogues that compound. Thirty-two tracks on the inaugural release, each treated as a long-tail asset engineered to outlast the algorithm.
Everything we release is also filmed. Lyric video, behind-the-scenes, short-form editorial cuts. The album and the film are the same artefact.
Distribution through DistroKid to all major DSPs. Sync licensing on Songtradr, Musicbed, Artlist. YouTube Content ID for every track. APRA AMCOS Writer registration. Catalog releases when the operator decides, not when the platform demands.
Music videos. Lyric films. Behind-the-scenes. Short-form editorial cuts distributed to TikTok, IG Reels, YouTube Shorts. Long-form cinematic edits for theatrical / streaming. AI-assisted direction + ffmpeg post. One vision, every aspect ratio.
A real room inside the Black Garter venue, Rockdale NSW. Visitors by appointment only. Vinyl, art prints, hand-bound lyric books, limited apparel, recorded cassettes, and the albums themselves. Australia-wide shipping.
The film arm exists because the music arm makes things that need to be seen. Lyric films, music videos, behind-the-scenes, short-form editorial cuts. Every release ships with a visual artefact in the same week, on the same hour, with the same intent.
Direction is done with operator-led AI workflows: Wan 2.7 for cinematic motion, FLUX-2 for cover and still, ComfyUI for custom styles, ffmpeg for assembly. The aesthetic is editorial, asymmetric, slow. The output ratios are 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1 — every aspect ratio gets a distinct cut.
We do not chase virality. We make films that the operator would want to see in a cinema, then we ship them to every screen the operator owns.
The film arm also takes commissions. If you are a label, brand, or artist and you want this register — colder than indie, hotter than corporate, more art than content — write to us. We will only take a few.
The showroom is one of the rooms inside the Black Garter venue, in Rockdale NSW. It holds the vinyl pressings, the art prints, the lyric books, the limited apparel. A small reading nook. A listening bench. Records you cannot get anywhere else.
It is not a shop — it is a private room you can come into. Write to us with the date and the time you would like to visit and we will meet you there. Tea or coffee or something stronger; the choice is yours.
